Hi, I'm Bernadett
I photographed people for nine years before I had children of my own. Portraits, mostly, and mostly people who turned up telling me they hate having their picture taken.
Then my daughter arrived, and I understood what I'd been circling all along. Faces were never the point. It's the hand at the back of a head, the whole weight of a child going into someone, the half second before anyone notices they're holding on.
I'm a mother of two, working across South East London, in homes and outdoors.

All I ask in return is a few honest words about how it went afterwards. Book by March 2027 and the founding rate is yours, whenever the session itself happens. Standard rates start after that.
MATERNITY

Nobody feels their best at 34 weeks.
You ache, you're tired, you've been living in the same three outfits, and having your photograph taken is nowhere near the top of the list.
I'd still ask you to do it.
Not for how you look, but for how you're being held: a hand that arrives on the bump without anyone deciding to, an older child leaning in to listen. And because this is the only time you and your baby will ever be photographed as one person.

NEWBORN
NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN SOUTH EAST LONDON
It lasts about eight weeks and most of it disappears.
The 3am googling, the smell of the top of their head, how small they were against your forearm. You think you'll remember and then you don't.
This isn't a photoshoot so much as two hours of sitting with your baby while someone else takes care of the pictures. You don't need to tidy, or change, or have slept. Whatever your house looks like on a Tuesday is exactly what I want to photograph you in.
Nobody will ask you to hand your baby over or hold them still. I work around the two of you.

FAMILY
FAMILY photography in south east london
The hardest part of a family shoot is usually the twenty minutes before it, when you're trying to get everyone dressed and out of the door in a good mood. After that, none of it is your problem.
Children don't have to sit still or perform on cue. They will probably ignore me for the first ten minutes, which is fine, because that's when I get the best of it.
I'll plan outfits with you beforehand, pick the light, and give you all something to be doing. You won't have to think about where to stand.
What I'm looking for is the part you won't notice at the time: who reaches for whom, how your family arranges itself when nobody is organising it.

THE STORY OF SORELLIN
I founded Sorellin with my sister Noemi. The name comes from sorellina, Italian for little sister.
We have lived apart for ten years, Noemi in Budapest and me here, and for most of that we were both at home with small children and on the phone every day. The studio came out of those calls. Two cities, separate clients, entirely separate businesses, and somehow I have never once felt like I was doing this on my own.
The first thing we do after a shoot is send each other a few frames straight off the laptop. We tell each other the truth about them, which is not always what you want to hear at nine in the evening. It is the most useful thing about doing this with a sister.
I love cinema, good stories, melted cheese on almost anything, and I strongly believe that the colour and shape of your mug alters the taste of your coffee.
